Read Only Permissions

Read-only settings help teams manage shared data confidently, ensuring that their files stay accurate and secure while still supporting teamwork.

To keep files secure and ensure team members view only the necessary data, Suite allows Admins to set files or folders as read-only for specific team members. Read-only means that the team member can view the data but won’t be able to make any changes to it.

Follow these steps to grant a team member read-only access:

Step 1: Go to Team Settings

Step 2: Under the "Users" tab, locate the team member you want to assign read-only permissions to and select "Manage"

Step 3: Locate the file or folder and select "Read Only"

Want to grant read-only access to an entire group of team members all at once?

Step 1: Go to Team Settings

Step 2: Click “Groups”

Step 3: Click “Manage”

Step 4: Locate the file or folder and select "Read Only"

Once set, the team member(s) will be able to view the file but will not have editing abilities.

💡 You won't see this option under Admins as by default, they have access to the entire Suite drive.
