A collaboration link, also known as a "collab link," is used to give another person access to your workstation. The person using the collaboration link does not need to be a team member on your Suite account.
How to create a collaboration link
To create a collaboration link, go to the Suite Dashboard and select the desired running workstation on the left-hand side. When the workstation information appears on the right-hand side, near the top of the page, click "Collab Link." This will copy a URL to your clipboard which may be shared with another person.
โ ๏ธ Anyone who wishes to connect to a workstation via a collaboration link will need to install DCV Viewer on their local machine. If they do not have DCV Viewer installed, they will be prompted to do so when they use the collaboration link.
What are some use cases for collaboration links?
Collaboration links enable you to share access to your Suite Workstation for a limited time. Some reasons for this may include:
Your client needs to review an edit. Instead of exporting and sending a file for review, they can watch the edit on your workstation
Your producer wants to review your edit and make edits in real-time with you from a remote location
You're learning a new editing technique or a new creative tool and need a friend to help you out
Do collaboration links expire?
Collaboration links are created every time a workstation is powered on, and likewise, are disabled as soon as the workstation is powered off. If you share a collaboration link with an external person, they will not permanently be able to view your workstation.
What's the difference between "collab links" and "view-only links"?
Collab Links enables the user to control your workstation. They will be able to click around and make changes as if they were a member of your team.
View-only links only enable the user to view your workstation. They will not be able to click around or make changes; they will only be able to watch what you do on the workstation.
