What happens if I go over on storage?

This article explains our policies around exceeding the storage allotment on your subscription.

Updated over 2 years ago

How is storage billed?

Storage is billed monthly based on a predetermined quota that caters to your total active storage needs. For instance, if your typical requirement ranges between 2 and 3 terabytes (TB) of active storage, your subscription should be set to a 3TB quota.

How do I increase or decrease my storage?

Our platform monitors your active storage. If you surpass your storage threshold, our system will automatically adjust your subscription and you’ll receive an email notifying you of the change.

If you need to reduce your storage, simply message us via the in-app live chat and our support team will adjust your subscription to your current storage level.

💡 If your storage capacity increases or decreases, your next bill will reflect the pro-rated amount taking into account any modifications made during that billing period.

Example: If you add an extra terabyte mid-way through your monthly billing cycle, your next invoice will reflect the charge for the 15 days from the month prior.

How do I see how much storage I am using?

You can monitor your storage usage at the bottom of the main Suite Storage dashboard (as pictured below).

💡 You will never be restricted from uploading more files to Suite Storage, even if you exceed your quota.
