MFA on Suite

Learn how to setup MFA on Suite

Updated over 3 weeks ago

MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) significantly improves security by requiring more than just a password to access an account.

Enabling MFA for your account

Step One: Download an Authenticator App

To set up MFA on Suite, you must utilize an authenticator application of your choice. These can be downloaded on the App or Google Play Store. Any authentication app will do the trick just fine, but if you are new to this type of authentication, we'd recommend "Authy" or "Google Authenticator".

Step Two: Enable MFA on Suite

  1. Click on your profile Icon in the bottom left-hand corner of the Suite app, then click "Settings"

2. Click "Enable MFA"

3. Using your authenticator app, scan the QR code or manually enter the "Setup Key" (by clicking "Can't scan it?") and follow the instructions within your authenticator app

4. Click "Next", then enter the 6 digit code presented by your authenticator app, then click "Verify"

MFA will now be enabled on your account! You'll need access to your mobile device the next time you attempt to login. You can re-configure your MFA at any time via the settings page.

Requiring MFA For Your Suite Team (Admins Only)

To require MFA for your team, reach out to support via live support or email us at [email protected]. Important notes on requiring MFA for your team:

  1. Users on a team requiring MFA will not be able to log in unless they are on Suite versions 57.62.0 and above (they will see a "Authentication Failed" error). Ensure the team updates their Suite app prior to us enabling this requirement.

  2. Once enabled - The next time any team member logs in they will be required to enable MFA, via the steps outlined above, prior to accessing your Suite drive. Currently logged-in team members will not be logged out.

  3. Headless systems utilizing the Suite CLI should also be updated with MFA prior to enabling this requirement.

ℹ️ It's important you understand and communicate the above items prior to Suite Support enabling this MFA requirement for your team!
