Playback
Under Preferences > Memory, turn off Enable Mercury Transit to minimize Premiere’s system memory (RAM) usage.
Scratch Disks
ℹ macOS and Windows - Premiere > File > Project Settings > Scratch Disks
In most cases, you can set your Scratch Disks to a location on a super-fast, local volume (e.g. Documents or a [Custom] location).
However, when working from shared storage like Suite, Adobe recommends setting Premiere’s Scratch Disks ”to a shared location so render files are shared across every editorial system.”
If you choose Same as Project for all Scratch Disks, Premiere stores those render files alongside your Project or Production on Suite.
✅ If you set your Scratch Disks to a folder on Suite, for best performance, pre-cache your Scratch Disks in advance.
