Overview
With Suite's SAML 2.0 integration, you can connect your team members' authentication to an external identity provider (IdP) such as Okta, Google, and Microsoft Entra ID (née Azure AD). This guide explains how to set up and sign into Suite using SSO.
Configuration
Suite integrates with any identity provider that supports SAML 2.0 authentication.
Configuration guides for Okta, Google, and Entra ID are available here:
If you use a different identity provider, please reach out for assistance through your Suite point of contact, or: [email protected]
What is Just In Time User Provisioning?
Team members assigned to the Suite application within your identity provider are provisioned once they log into Suite for the first time (i.e. Just In Time). That means you won’t see this team member listed in Team settings > Users
until they log in to Suite for the first time.
Once they log in, an Admin
user on your Suite team can grant permissions to new team members through Team Settings
.
Logging in with Single Sign-On (SSO)
To log into Suite using SSO, click Sign in with SSO
.
Next, Enter your team ID
.
ℹ The team ID was either designated by you or provided by your Suite point of contact during configuration.
For example, if your company's name is "Flower Productions", the team ID would likely be flowerproductions
.
Click Next
, and you'll be redirected to a web browser to authenticate with your team's identity provider.
ℹ If one of your team members sees an error indicating an access issue, it likely means a local team member with Administrator privileges to your identity provider needs to add this user to your IdP.
Once they're added to your IdP, have that team member:
Quit-then-relaunch Suite.
Try to
Sign in with SSO
once again.
Once you complete the authentication to your IdP, your new SSO-based team member will be available in Team settings > Users
. Ask your team lead or a known Admin
user in Suite to add the necessary permissions to your new team member.
After they add the permissions you need, quit-then-relaunch the Suite app, Open Drive
, and you can start working from Suite.
