Experiencing Slowness During Uploads?

Suite relies on your Internet connection to upload your data. If uploads feel slower than expected, double-check these items.

Uploading Media and Experiencing Slowness?

1. Is the upload active or stuck?

First, locate your live network transfer activity to confirm Suite is sending data.

macOS

  1. Launch Activity Monitor.app.

  2. Click the Network tab.

  3. Look for the Data sent/sec rate in the bottom right-hand side of that window.

Windows

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to launch Task Manager.

  2. Click the Performance tab.

  3. Select Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

  4. Look for the Send data rate near the bottom of that window.

This is the actual speed of your network while uploading. Compare that speed with the expected upload speed through your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Is it the same?

Also, is the data rate listed in KB or Kbps during your upload? If so, that may indicate your upload is stuck or your local network isn't performing as expected.

2. Is Your Network Set Up For Success?

Wi-Fi works, but performance will vary, especially when using crowded public hotspots (e.g. airports and coffee shops) or Wi-Fi provided as a guest service (e.g. hospitals and hotels).

For best results, connect your computer over Ethernet (i.e. a cabled connection).

3. How large is the upload?

This upload time calculator will help you estimate how much time your transfer should take based on the total amount of data you want to upload and your upload speed.
