Pre-caching the media you are actively working on reduces your reliance on internet speed while editing.
1. Make sure your cache is set up correctly
Double-check that you’ve followed all the steps in our cache setup guide
A common issue is not having enough space allocated. Suite reserves ~20% of your cache space for On-Demand caching, so your total cache size should be larger than your project. We also keep ~10% of your drive free to ensure things run smoothly.
Example: If your project is 100GB, we recommend allocating at least 120GB total (100GB + 20% + free space buffer)
2. Check your internet connection
Pre-caching pulls data down from the cloud, so your download speed matters. Try a speed test to see how fast your connection is.
3. Check Activity Monitor for Active Downloads
Even if the progress bar looks frozen, caching might still be running in the background.
On Mac: Open Activity Monitor > Network tab
On Windows: Open Task Manager > Performance > Network
Look for data being sent/received. If it’s moving, Suite is still working away.
4. Restart and Retry
If there’s no activity and the pre-cache still seems stuck, try restarting Suite.
⚠️ Note: Force quitting will cancel any uploads in progress (you’ll need to restart them manually).
ℹ️ Pre-cached data won’t be cleared when relaunching Suite and any in progress pre-caching will pick up where it left off.
